Liebestod

In January 2019 deufert&plischke started to work towards their new creation Liebestod that will premiere at Tanz im August 2019 .  Like in their previous projects the aim is to work artistically with a focus on opening up communal involvement and mutual transference of artistic tools. Therefore the project started by inviting  people to a series of free public workshops.
Interweaving choreography, music, film, and location specific field work the project’s focus is on the subject of catastrophic love. deufert&plischke will look at love not from the angle of happy endings, but where it is prohibited, where it hurts. Everybody has a personal fucked-up love story, a story one is ashamed of, a story of active or passive violence, a story that is haunting, where one is not the victim, but the wrongdoer.
As a field research there will be three public workshops to gather material, but to also introduce into the work methodologies of deufert&plischke. The workshops are free of charge, registration is required. The workshop participants will be mentioned in the project documentation and also receive free tickets for the performances in August.
